Since their introduction to the UK from North America in the 17th centuary, Canada Geese have established themselves as a common resident throughout most of the country.
It is native to North America but it is only in the last 50 years or so that Canada Geese have been breeding in the eastern United States and there are now large resident populations in most mid-Atlantic states. The majority of the population is, however, still migratory and nests primarily in Canada.
